DINING at Sol Bungalows
The dining experience at Sol Bungalows is relaxed and casual, with alot of the food that we serve being sourced from our permaculture farm or our local community.
You will love the incredible views from our dining area, watching the sunsets for dinner, and seeing how colors of the morning change during breakfast. These are the times when we will also get to know each other, and when we can help you plan out your day’s adventures.
Breakfast
Breakfast is included in your stay. Our breakfast menu consists of several styles of smoothie bowls, an oatmeal bowl, continental style, pancake, omelet, a breakfast sandwich, and a granola bowl. Your main dish comes with French press coffee or tea, a fruit juice, a small bowl of fresh fruits, and water. Additional smoothies can be ordered for $3 – $4.50.
Breakfast is served between 8AM-10:30AM
Dinner
We do not serve dinner on Sundays.
Dinner is served at 7PM, it is optional and can be signed up for in the morning during breakfast. We have a set menu that has some flexibility. We also have menu items for vegan/ vegetarian/ gluten free, just let us know ahead of time!
Our dinner menu can be described as international with some local Panamanian classics. There is a good mix of fish and chicken with ceviches, curries, soups and salads. The menu is designed so that the meat can be easily switched for a vegetarian or vegan option.
Dinner includes an appetizer, main course, and dessert. Prices range from $24-$27 per person, not including drinks.
Lunch
We do not serve lunch at Sol Bungalows and there is nowhere within walking distance on our island where you can eat lunch.
There are, however, several incredible lunch spots within just a 5 minute water taxi ride from our bungalows! Additionally, many day tours and activities include lunch, so if you go out for the day you will be able to eat out.
Why don’t we serve lunch?
It is common in Bocas that accommodations will only serve breakfast and maybe dinner. This is because most guests will leave during the day, and the accommodation cannot pay an employee to stay to work lunch if no one is going to eat lunch. This is especially true for us, since we are so small :).
Thankfully, there are some incredible lunch spots nearby. So, if you plan on hanging out at our bungalows all day, you won’t mind jumping off for a quick lunch somewhere!

All of these places are just 5 minutes or less from our bungalows by water taxi. We are happy that we can help support them with business in these hard times, and we also know you will enjoy their food, views, and experience!
Drinking At Sol Bungalows
Cocktails
We have a small menu of homemade cocktails that are available during dinner that incorporates local and fresh ingredients, many from our garden! Classics can also be ordered like gin & tonic or a rum and coke.
Wine
We have a selection of a house red or white wine.
Beer
We serve the local Panamanian Balboa beer and also have a selection of Panamanian craft beers.
To-Go
Your room has a minifridge, so why not fill it with wine and beer that you can enjoy whenever you like? You can buy bottles of wine or beers from us to keep in your room, or you can also buy whatever you like in town. Your room will have glasses as well.
Since we do not have a full day kitchen/ bar staff, this is your best option for enjoying beverages during the day.
Drinking Water
Our bungalows run 100% on rainwater that we catch from two different locations on our property. This water is then run through a pump and filtered three times for drinking. We feel 100% safe drinking this water and this is the same water that our 2 year old daughter drinks.
